9/11 Truth UAlbany receives funding, internship for credit program


9/11 Truth UAlbany is proud to announce
that
it has been granted its initial budget appropriation from the SUNY
Albany
Student Association. The student group has received $250, the maximum
amount
that can be awarded for a group's initial budget request. Members of
the
Student Association voted unanimously in the group’s favor during an
emergency budget request hearing at the campus governing body's first
weekly
session of the semester.

9/11 Truth UAlbany’s president Mike Metzger and newsletter editor
Jaclyn
Bruntfield addressed the Student Association before the vote, citing
the
group's many achievements and contributions to the campus community in
such
a short amount of time, as well as the fact that these efforts were
funded
entirely out of pocket by the group's dedicated members. Many student
senators praised the group during their debate, with one senator even
declaring 9/11 Truth the most active and organized group on campus.

Also at the meeting, 9/11 Truth UAlbany publicly announced that it is
now
offering academic credit to students who sign up for its internship
program.
Through UAlbany's Community and Public Service program, students can
earn
2-3 credits to help in the group's efforts and learn invaluable
activism
skills such as public speaking, promotion, and outreach. The group will
hold
its first general interest meeting of the semester on Tuesday, February
6
with a keynote speech by the creators of the internet phenomenon Loose
Change.
