The pundits’ swift verdict, before any real investigation has been conducted, that Major Nidal Hasan’s homicidal rampage at Fort Hood was an act of terrorism is at best poor journalism, not that they trade in the stuff at all, and at worst a mockery of the victims that uses their bodies as mere political cannon fodder. I expect this conduct from talking heads but not from elected officials. Senator Joe Lieberman’s suggestion that we consider Major Hasan's actions at Fort Hood an act of terrorism is brazen politicking with a very awful tragedy.
