Around midday, a group of Usian/Venezuelan protesters passed out pamphlets and held up signs reading "Libertad para Los Presos" sending a message of solidarity to the 100 or so detainees who are held in Guadalajara for protesting at the summit of leaders from the E.U. and Latin America. Their message of support was in conjuction with a letter demanding the release of the prisoners, compliance with due legal procedure, and holding accountable the authorities who had violated the prisoners' civil and legal rights.

Around noontime, a consular delegate came out of the building onto the front sidewalk and accepted the letter of demands, (perhaps hoping this appeasement would persuade the protesters to leave). But instead, they continued to hold up their signs on the sidewalk, pass out information to bypassers and car-drivers, and engage in discussions with the people entering/exiting the consulate. Some cars and trucks honked as they passed and reciprocated a yell of "Libertad," outreaching their hands to grab a pamphlet, others drove by unperplexed as usual.
